Kelli E. Caulfield is an entrepreneur with business operations in Birmingham, Alabama, and New Orleans, Louisiana.  In 2007, Ms. Caulfield co-founded DCM Organizations, LLC., which currently owns and operates a Quiznos Sub Shop located in Port Allen, Louisiana.  In 2008 Ms. Caulfield co-founded John Ramsay LLC (now CHRG, LLC) that currently owns and operates Quiznos Sub 5104 in Hoover, Alabama.  As co-owner and operator of Quiznos Sub 5104, Ms. Caulfield is responsible for all aspects of business operations including recruiting and staffing, marketing and promotion, customer service, technical operations, administration, and finance.

 

 

While pursuing her Juris doctrine degree at Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Ms. Caulfield co-founded Dicta Designs, LLC, a design firm that specializes in graduate school paraphernalia and custom designs.

 

Upon her return to Birmingham in 2007, Ms. Caulfield founded XUberant Enterprises LLC (now Caulfield Properties, LLC), a real estate investment, renovation, and property management company focusing on the revitalization of urban communities in the greater Birmingham area.  Through XUberant Enterprises (Caulfield Properties, LLC) Ms. Caulfield has worked towards improving low-income housing in Birmingham by providing a variety of real estate opportunities including affordable rental units, real estate investment and consulting services, and property management services.

 

In January 2008 Ms. Caulfield incorporated the Ernest Lee Caulfield Foundation, dedicated to her late father and focuses on helping support the intellectual, social and cultural development of disadvantaged youth through the greater Birmingham area by helping to provide capital for non-profit organizations that support said youth.  In the fall of 2008, the Ernest Lee Caulfield Foundation provided breakfast for the JCCEO Putnam Middle School Breakfast Club, and book scholarships for African American students pursuing their undergraduate degrees.

 

In 2011, NOLA Ice was born out of a need to bring more New Orleans culinary flavor to the greater Birmingham, Alabama area.  NOLA Ice is a mobile concession company specializing in New Orleans based snoballs.  In 2016, Ms. Caulfield continued the New Orleans trend by developing Broad St Peaux Boys – a food truck that specializes in po’boys and Cajun cuisine.

 

In 2018, Ms. Caulfield opened The Basement at City Hall.  Located in the basement of the Birmingham City Hall, The Basement Café serves in breakfast and lunch five days a week.

 

Ms. Caulfield served on a number of committees and works with a variety of organizations in Birmingham and New Orleans.  These included the Louis A. Martinet Legal Society, the Birmingham and New Orleans Urban League Young Professionals, Xavier University of Louisiana Alumni Association, Junior Achievement, and the JCCEO Putnam Middle School Breakfast Club.

 

Ms. Caulfield is the 2014 Alabama Media Groups Entrepreneur of the Year, and the 2018 Birmingham Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Recipient.

 

Born May 8, 1982, in New Orleans, Louisiana and reared in Birmingham, Alabama from age four, Ms. Caulfield is the daughter of the late Ernest Lee Caulfield, Esq., and Gayle Cunningham Caulfield.  She is a 2000 graduate of John Carroll Catholic High School in Birmingham, Alabama and in 2004 earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a concentration in History and Philosophy from Xavier University of Louisiana, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and a Juris doctrine degree from Miles College School of Law.
